There seems to be a great rivalry between Hubpages and Squidoo although niether of the two sites have ever said anything about being in competition with each other.
There have been many comparisons made by authors from Hubpages and lensmasters at Squidoo, depending on where those people prefer to write the outcome of the comparison leads to their favored site.
Both Hubpages and Squidoo offer people the chance to write on the topic of their choice and earn an extra income from advertising, they both offer an array of capsules or lenses to improve the look and feel of your page and most importantly they are both totaly free to use.
I personally prefer hubpages because I find it easier to use, once I have written my article I can have it published within minutes, and I prefer how a finished hubpage looks compared to a squidoo lens.
A Lensmaster on Squidoo would tell you the exact same thing about Squidoo.
It is all down to personal preference.
Money
Most comparisons Between Squidoo and Hubpages always end up comparing earnings between the two websites, it is an issue that is very important to most of the people who use the sites.
“I wrote three squidoo lenses and made $6.00 in the first week, and I Made three hubpages hubs and made $4.00 in the first week, therefore Squidoo is better for making money”
In Reality though you have to take a long term view on earnings, you may have made more on one site in a week but in six months time you could be breaking even on both sites.
Content is important on both sites and many points need to be considered before you can compare earnings on them. what topic did you write about on Hubpages? what topic did you write about on Squidoo? were they similar articles? if not how can you really compare earnings? some topics earn more than others because of the popularity of the topic.
There is enough room out there in Internet land for both Squidoo and Hubpages, after all is said and done it is your personal preference where you decide to write your articles, you could like a lot of people out there use both and get the best of both worlds.
